Who know's what tomorrow will bring
maybe sunshine, maybe rain
as for me I'll wait and see

maybe it'll bring my love to me.
Who knows?

--------
I know, there is no smoke, nor are there any mirrors to be seen in the piece at all. However, that is the name of the RJD2 song that inspired it. That and I spent all my creativity on the picture. Titles are too much work.

It's a huge file. It's absolutely enormous. And huge at that. It's rather disgusting. But I worked hard on detail.

I did it all by myself. Painted it with my wacom. And I'm proud.
Enjoy. Sorry about the fingers. We have a background, folks. I'm afraid it's a tradeoff. Background or fingers, you can't have your cake and eat it too, damnit.

Even in the blood alone..it somehow seems promising as she looks out to the distance. I think the colors may have something to do with that. It made me almost cry looking at it, thinking deeply into it. So sad, so beautiful.

I love the colours big time, but one thing's irking me (and no, it's not her fingers ;)). It's the tree to the left, it looks like a sketch. The slight haziness of the figure would really stand out if the background was solid, being as it is it just looks unfinished. But great work nonetheless :)

Why thank you for the crit. It was definitely an experimental piece (lol cheap shot, what art isn't?), and if I get into that piece again, I'll definitely go fix up that tree. Thanks for takin' the time! :)

Wish I could use my Wacom and my Photoshop to do something like this.

I like the picture. I particularly like the hair and the girl's face. You just know that when she turns her head to look at you, you'll see someone who's cute as a bug.

Really, I had a hard time with photoshop to begin with. It's not easy, and colors are a total trip. Thank you though. Maybe when she turns her head she'll have a bit of hair in her mouth. :P

This turned out exceptionally well! I'm impressed you can go back and forth between the digital and the pencil...I am struggling with the digital medium. This is beautiful, a little creepy, but that's part of why I like it.

I'm going to have to make a confession. the digital world is a tough one for me hence that favourite on your Pen Tool picture. This one took me many many many hours, whereas I find that pencil work is a lot less of a struggle. Maybe because it's comfortable. I dunno. *distortified got me a tablet for christmas, and I didn't want to put his money to waste. :paranoid: But thank you so much for your input; i really do appreciate it! :)

Well, I recently learned from another deviant that the type of tablet makes a difference. I guess there are some where you can write on the screen and see it right there (which is what he has) so it's exactly like working in a sketchbook or the one where you write and it shows up in the program on your monitor (the one I have).

I have the same one as you, i don't have that fancy tablet that's literally like the digital sketchbook. I would very much like one of those. To be honest I think a lot of it is that I don't feel the grooves when I draw. You know when you use pencils or pens even, you can feel the grooves as the pencil digs into the paper, I end up using that as a guideline. Also there are so many things on art projects-- it's overwhelming. You have a billion different tools that do a billion different things...you know what i mean?

I do know what you mean...but I found that picking up a photoshop magazine the other day taught me a lot of little things, not just tricks, but some basic uses for stuff like the magnetic lasso and the polygonal thingie...still can't manage the pen tool, but maybe I'll eventually pick it up. Like you, I love to feel the paper underneath because it does change how the drawing it done, just like grain in wood...and I love to get ink all over my hands, but sometimes, during dry spells when I can't afford expensive pens or even cheap pens, the tablet is a nice affordable outlet. After the initial investment you don't have to worry about buying all those different mediums.
