Finally finished! Air Elemental for $Moonbeam13, one of my commissions for ^stigmatattoo's cause.

I'm pretty happy with it. :aww:

Graphite: h, hb, 2b, 3b, 4b, and...probably a whole bunch of others + finger + kneaded erasers.

This is really beautiful!
Love the flowing dress, you managed the folds fantastically.
Also, her face looks so detailed, especially for it just being a small part of the picture. You did an awesome job getting the shading on her mouth and nose just right! The only thing that could have been a bit darker are her eyes, they seem to pale a bit compared to the mouth, but maybe that was intentional.
Also I think the upper left part of the picture could use a few more darker shadows (for example, the shadow on the gargoyle looks black, but the sky around the moon or the inside of her dress only dark grey)
Enough rambling, I really like it!
Great work! It made me smile.

Gorgeous! I was wondering, how do you draw pics knowing where to put all the details? (shadows, folds in clothing?)
beautiful work! the dress came out great! you can really sense its movement and a specific type of material :)

Practice makes perfect. Just keep doing it. A lot of it is studying from life to see how cloth falls, and how the light from different places creates shadows in different areas.

As an exercise for cloth, I recommend taking some sheets or a curtain, and draping it over a chair, and drawing it. It can be tedious, but that way you get an understanding on how different cloths are affected by gravity. :)

It's very important to practice drawing with real life objects--that way you have a better understand of these different aspects.:)

I really appreciate the critique. If I haven't shipped it off already, I would work on it. Next time, though, next time. :shakefist:

Fantastic! I can only see one or two little flaws I'd have fixed, but you've already shipped it off :P

I'll tell you anyway.

As someone else mentioned, it'd be nice if her eyes were a bit darker, just for clarity.

Her left thigh has an odd lump right next to where the dress falls in to cover her dignity :giggle:. The lump bothers me slightly.
Also, her toes are kinda pointy. Is that on purpose?

But, I LOVE the gargoyle and the background! Fantastic overall! :D
