So, it's been a long time since I submitted anything on dA, but that is in part that I haven't really had the opportunity to make any art. You could say that having a kid sort of re-prioritized my time, but I'm trying. Anyway, I feel pretty good about this piece. This piece is dedicated to my husband, distortified
, who continually finds time to create regardless of circumstance and has managed to work 65+ hours a week, take a 17 hour road trip with me and manage to participate DAILY in Flash-Fic-Month
. He's inspiring, and he's my hero.
This character is distortified
's Sabella, the personification of death. I've drawn her a couple of times, but I'm really happy with this. And I've never worked with charcoal so deeply (it's painfully obvious I'm a pencil artist, haha), so I'm excited to have branched out of my comfort zone.
Medium: charcoal, conte crayon, white charcoal, chalk on 12x18 grey paper
Thanks for checking it out.
